About Daisy Wheel Printer

Introduction - It is a printing technology that was invented in 1969 by David S. Lee. It was used in typewriters, word processors and computers from 1972. By 1980 it had been the most famous printer. It used to print 75-80 characters in a second that was more in comparison to the technologies available in that time.






How does it works? - According to its name it had a daisy wheel inside it. It used to rotate on individual letter pressed and get stamped on the paper to print letter.







Is it suitable in present context? - Of course not. Because today’s generation wants everything to be done and completed in an easy and quicker way. Daisy wheel printer produces lots of noise and was slow. So in today’s context it is almost impossible to have Daisy Wheel Printer in use.
